Some scientists estimate the one out of every three bites of food we take is made possible by the ecosystems services provided by pollinators. Many insect and pollinator populations, however, are in decline around the world. This presentation will introduce you to gardening practices that support pollinators, plants that are important sources of food, and how you can incorporate pollinator habitat into your landscape.
Vicki Morrical has degree in landscape architecture and works for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Illinois. NRCS supports pollinators through programs and technical assistance they provide to landowners. She recently worked with NRCS biologists to develop a pollinator garden design guide to help people make their own landscapes friendly to pollinators.
